For the next two weeks we have a young lady joining us for work experience. She has expressed an interest in photography, and may wish to follow this as a career when she finishes school. This may have more to do with the fact that her farther is a part time wedding photographer. Hopefully she will be inspired and go away with some new found skills.

 I am very keen to help these school pupils gain a very good understanding of what a modern photography business entails and also teach them the basic skills of “camera control”. In this digital era its so easy to switch on the camera turn the dial to fully automatic and let the camera make all of the decisions, and in the majority of cases get quite acceptable results, all done without understanding what is going on inside the camera.

What a eureka moment when the Aperture, Shutter speeds and ISO clicks (no pun intended) and they realise that they can control the outcome of the image.
