Celebrating International Women’s Day with Divers Photography

Happy International Women’s Day! We are celebrating International women’s day at Divers Photography, with an image of our daughter, who runs her own beauty business.

We’ve always been huge advocates of supporting and empowering women for their achievements, whether that be from a political, economic or social point of view. We think it’s incredible how many women are heading up their own empires, building solid businesses and commanding respect and equality from their peers.

From years of working in the photography industry, we understand that women, like some men, have hidden doubts under their exterior and sometimes, they can be lacking in confidence, and have to work hard to fit into some of the male dominated work places.

So, here at Divers Photography, we’re giving a nod to International Women’s Day by celebrating the absolute beauty and empowerment of  the women that we’ve been lucky enough to photograph throughout our years to date.

To some, portraits of themselves are seen as fickle, self-indulgent or even only for those that are somewhat intrigued with their own appearance. But from our years of photography, we’ve seen first-hand that these portraits are a way of empowering, reassuring and confidence building in those that struggle to see that beautiful sparkle that we capture so effortlessly through our lens.

We wanted to share a collection of photographs of some of the beautiful women that have visited us at the studio. Not only did we collect photographs of these wonderful women, but we also collected their stories too.

To us, it’s important to remember that International Women’s Day is not only about a political or economic stance, but also about empowerment, self-love, confidence and above all, acceptance of the people that we are or yet to become.
