Celebrating my Birthday and our 33rd Wedding Anniversary

Today it was mine and Susan’s 33rd Wedding Anniversary and my Birthday too. 21 again I hear you ask? Absolutely correct!

Our daughter Rachael loves to make a big fuss on birthdays so Sue and I were so surprised to see that Rachael had ordered a beautiful cake for the both of us to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary.

I’m a huge coffee lover and I also love salted caramel, so of course, that was the main theme for the cake! Our beautiful cake stood three tiers tall and was made up of three layers; Vanilla, Coffee and Salted Caramel with Salted Caramel buttercream. An absolute treat! And just to add evern more decadence, our cake was topped with gorgeous homemade Macaroons, gold dusted Lindt truffles and the most beautiful sugar roses. It also had edible pearls, wafer love hearts and edible gold leaf too. Wow!

We loved the gorgeous little windmills that sat atop our gorgeous surprise too, they were a lovely finishing touch.

After taking plenty of photographs, we cut the cake and enjoyed sharing it with our family and friends.

What a wonderful surprise! We were also treated to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I even got a bottle of whisky too (another one of my favourite things – I am from a Scottish family after all!)

It’s safe to say that we’re well and truly stocked up on cake. Now all we need is the perfect coffee to go with it.
